Abstract
This essay explores how the dismissive avoidant attachment style—rooted in emotional neglect during childhood—negatively impacts romantic relationships. It explains how initial excitement often fades as emotional intimacy becomes threatening, leading to poor communication, unproductive arguments, and eventual relationship breakdown. Ultimately, the paper concludes that without professional intervention, this attachment style can prevent the formation of healthy, lasting romantic bonds.
