Abstract
Today, Friday, February 4, is national Wear Red Day, sponsored by the American Heart Association. Everyone on campus is invited to wear red to acknowledge heart disease, and to encourage your co-workers, classmates and friends to do so, too - you can even run home over lunch and grab your red.
"National Wear Red Day is all about raising awareness about heart disease among women so that research dollars can be raised. It is also an opportunity for women to commit or re-commit to making the right choices for their hearts, involving diet, exercise, and abstinence from smoking," said Amanda Bentow at the UND Wellness Center.
To make it even better, Workwell is sponsoring a photo contest for faculty and staff to spread the message of heart health.
There are four categories for the photo contest this year:
Best smiling group photo
Healthiest-looking bunch photo
Most fun photo
Coolest digitally enhanced photos
Submit photos to Work Well at UND.workwell@email.und.edu or Mail Stop 8365(Work Well, Wellness Center, 801 Princeton St., Grand Forks, N.D. 58202) by Friday, Feb. 11.
Next you get to vote for which photos should win. Voting will take place Feb. 14-18. The lucky winners will get a fruit and yogurt parfait party for up to 20 of their officemates.
