Description
Cartoon depicts "Orville" holding a ball and chain labeled "Farm Program" and "Control" while the farmer looks on asking "For Me?" Secretary of Agriculture, Orville Freeman, appointed a National Potato Advisory Committee to study the potato situation and devise a three part program. North Dakota growers were skeptical of the proposals and their effect on the North Dakota potato industry, particularly control of production by handlers.
