Description

This letter dated April 19, 1950, from United States (US) Senator William Langer to Executive Director of North Dakota Indian Affairs Commission John B. Hart, states that Langer has contacted Commissioner of US Bureau of Indian Affairs John R. Nichols asking that Nichols respond to Hart’s March 27, 1947 telegram concerning whether the Bureau plans to buy land outside of the Fort Berthold Reservation. Langer writes that he has “contacted Mr Nichols in an endeavor to see what can be done to help you with this matter.”

The letter is marked with the handwritten annotations “Indians,” “Interior,” and “N. Dak. Indian Affairs Com.”
