Artist Bio
Adam Kemp was originally born in a village forty miles northeast of London. He earned his BFA in Newcastle in 1986 and moved to North Dakota in 1987 where he earned his MFA in sculpture from the University of North Dakota.
Kemp is a resident of Grand Forks. He is well known for his bright, eclectic style throughout the Red River Valley region And public installations in downtown Grand Forks.

Prairie Surrealism:
In You're in My Space, Adam Kemp layers geometry, pattern, and the silhouettes of unmanned aircrafts to create a landscape where physical and digital space converge. The composition transforms the North Dakota prairie into a place where imagination and technology overlap, sometimes in obvious ways, and sometimes in a more complex manner.
This work also serves as a nod to Northern Plains UAS Test Site, whose research and testing of autonomous aircraft have made the region a national leader in aviation innovation. Like the painting itself, the Test Site reveals that the most transformative discoveries often occur within the unseen layers that connect people, technology, and place.
