Trudy Stubson lives and works in the Fargo/Moorhead area. Her art can be seen at regional galleries including Dakota Fine Art Gallery in Fargo. Her paintings are reflections of encounters she experiences in her waking life.

Prairie Surrealism:
Where the cloudscape looks up, Stubson's aerial painting looks down — offering the perspective that only flight makes possible. Farmland geometry, a winding river, and the soft shadows of clouds fold together into something that reads as both map and painting, real and imagined at once. The familiar prairie, seen from altitude, becomes quietly surreal: its patterns too perfect, its colors too vivid, its scale suddenly humbling. This aerial vantage point speaks directly to the spirit of inquiry that drives research and discovery at UND, reminding us that how we see something is inseparable from what we learn from it.
