Artist Bio

Raised in southwest Minnesota, Duane Penske received a BS degree in art education at Southwestern Minnesota State University. Although educated in a university art program, Penske's highly expressive style and obsessive insertion of written words resembles contemporary outsider art - rather than the work of a formally trained artist.

Additional Information

Penske's Beauty Queen was among the works selected for inclusion in the 2010 UND Presidential Print Portfolio which was prepared for the office of President Robert O. Kelley.
