Additional Information
Born in Cottage Grove, MN, Zach Julen originally came to UND to get a degree in Graphic Design, but soon found a love for painting and quickly changed his major to Fine Arts and graduated with a BFA, emphasis in painting.
Influenced by graffiti artists’ process of creating a piece of art, he makes his work in a similar fashion by reacting to the surface available him. Starting with various printed fabrics there is an obstacle when creating a new pattern that’s in conversation with the previous.
