Additional Information
Born in Cottage Grove, MN, Zach Julen originally came to UND to get a degree in Graphic Design, but soon found a love for painting and quickly changed his major to Fine Arts and graduated with a BFA, emphasis in painting.
A majority of Julen’s work focuses on vibrant colors and patterns with a repeated image that is often manipulated or slightly changed but is meant to appear identical at first glance. In this work each mouth is spaced out by eye, hand cut out of a series of layered stencils. No two are the same.
