Agnes Selario Carlson

Naturalized in 2009

Photographic portrait documenting Agnes Carlson and her daughter's participation in the Constitution Day Project.

Modern Igorot Costume - The Igorot costume is a traditional clothing from the Cordillera region in Northern Luzon, Philippines. The skirt is called tapis and wraps around the body. It is usually made from colorful, hand-woven fabric that matches the top. Weaving is a respected tradition that people pass down through generations. The colors and patterns in the clothing often show a person's tribal identity, status, or achievements. People commonly wear these outfits during festivals, weddings, rituals, and cultural performances. They also use accessories like layered bead necklaces, brass bracelets, earrings, and a woven headband to complete the look.
