From James Carley's notes: Stoneware jug. 11 1/2" high, with gray salt glaze. Elegant ovoid shape, but heavy. A chip from a white impurity in the body, and three other firing chips. Well shaped handle. Incised line at shoulder. Ribbing at neck. Some remnant of sealing wax? Ohio ware.
