From James Carley's notes: Stoneware jar 11 1/2" high. Good shape. It was perhaps intended as a corker, though it would have had to be a very large cork. But how else might it have been covered? Dark brown slip, rather rough, over all except base. Probably Georgia, according to Dr. Burrison. Purchased Gainesville GA.
