Description
In this audiovisual recording from Friday, March 25, 2022, as part of the 53rd Annual UND Writers Conference: “Communities and the Individual,” Cal Lane presents her sculptures and other work. Lane discusses creating art that explores contrasts and balances with a special emphasis on the intersection between the feminine and the masculine as well as the relationship between the domestic and the industrial. Lane also responds to audience questions about balancing individuality and introvertedness with a sense of community and connection, whether her educational experience in welding was necessary to her art, and art she’d like to make but hasn’t had the chance to yet.
Introduced by Nicole Derenne, Department of Art & Design.
