Abstract

Associate Professor of Law Michael S. McGinniss has published Apprenticing for a Flourishing Life in the Law: The Virtues of Judicial Clerkships, in the March/April 2015 issue of The Bencher, the flagship publication of the American Inns of Court with a current circulation of more than 28,000. The article examines how novice lawyers―having built a foundation of professional doctrine, skills, and values through their education in law school―may find in a judicial clerkship character-formative experiences that will further cultivate the virtue of practical wisdom, and continue their preparation for exercising independent professional judgment in the practice of law.
