Abstract
Mott attorney Charles Crane celebrated his 100th birthday on June 12, 2014.
Crane is a University of North Dakota School of Law graduate and was admitted to the North Dakota bar on July 8, 1938, more than 75 years ago.
He served for four years in the U.S. Army in England, France and Germany during World War II as an officer with the 847th Engineer Battalion. Prior to being drafted into the Army, he was State's Attorney of Billings County.
After leaving the Army, Crane went into private legal practice with his father Van Crane, who had opened a law practice in Mott in 1909. Charles Crane continued the law practice after his father died in 1955, later serving also as Hettinger County State's Attorney. His son David Crane still practices in Mott today.
