Abstract

Rebecca Weaver-Hightower, associate professor of English at the University of North Dakota, has published Postcolonial Film: History, Empire, Resistance (Routledge, 2014), a new collection of essays written by some of the world's leading researchers in the field of postcolonial film.

Edited with Peter Hulme, from the University of Essex (England), with an afterward by noted film scholars, Ella Shohat and Robert Stam (both of New York University), the collection includes essays on films from around the globe, such as The Battle of Algiers (North Africa), Cape No. 7 (Taiwan), and Jindabyne (Australia). The book is part of Routledge's Advances in Film Studies Series.
