WHAT: The play, Rumors by Neil Simon will be performed by UND's department of theatre arts

Background:

Tickets for the comedy are $15 for adults and $5 for students and may be bought in advance through the box office.

Chaos ensues when seven "high class" dysfunctional couples square off at a dinner party for the Deputy Mayor of New York, Charlie Brock. The host of the party has shot himself in the ear and all of the members of this piece are forced to roll through their comic obstacles at break neck speed as they try to cover up the night's events and protect their reputations.

Lies, deceit and role playing are not beyond the characters as they try and get to the bottom of just what in fact is going on. While tensions are already high, the situation is only heightened by an unexpected guest who questions them all to find out what is happening. The dinner party is ultimately a huge mess that leads the audience on a comedic thrill ride.

Neil Simon is in top form in this door slamming farce that will keep you guessing which Rumors are true. Come out for an evening of laughter with UND Theatre Arts April 8-12 at 7:30 p.m., and leave with a smile on your face, laughing all the way home.
