Abstract

Patti Alleva, Rodney & Betty Webb Professor of Law, and Michael S. McGinniss, Assistant Professor of Law, have been selected to present at the annual meeting of the American Association of Law Schools (AALS) in Washington, D.C. next January. At a program hosted by the AALS Teaching Methods Section, they will discuss Professional Foundations, the School of Law's brand new first-year course making its inaugural run this Spring. The course is especially designed to help students cultivate the habit of professional self-reflection in the first year of law school. Professors Alleva and McGinniss serve as course coordinators. Their presentation, including an interactive exercise illustrating basic course concepts, will be part of a program highlighting the importance of integrating professional identity issues into the law school curriculum. See the Professional Foundations page for details about the course, and the unique Faculty Team approach used to teach it.
