Abstract

The University of North Dakota College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is proud to announce the opening of our Post-Master's Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. The DNP program prepares Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Anesthetists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Nurse Midwives for the highest level of nursing practice.

The CNPD will admit its first class of students to the Post-Master's DNP program for the Fall of 2013. Applications are due by May 15, 2013. Information regarding the DNP Program and the application process will be available on the website beginning Monday, March 11, 2013. Admission decisions will be made one month after receiving completed applications. Courses will be offered online with part-time and full-time options of study. One on-campus weekend visit will be required per semester.

Nurses with a DNP are the most educated and qualified practitioners in their profession. DNP graduates are clinical leaders who are an integral part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Their expertise in quality improvement and systems leadership influences health policy and health care outcomes for individuals, families, and underserved or vulnerable populations.
