Abstract
The State Bar Association of North Dakota is seeking applicants for the executive director position which will become available on July 1, 2013.
The Executive Director is responsible for implementing the goals, strategies, programs, and policies established by the Association's Board of Governors on behalf of its 2,400 members. Within that framework, the Executive Director coordinates and directs the staff, programs, finances, and activities of the Association and of the North Dakota Bar Foundation. The successful applicant will assist the Board of Governors in leading the State Bar Association in providing services to North Dakota attorneys in a changing and challenging environment. In order to fill that role, the following skills are required:
Personal organizational skills, high energy level, and ability to motivate membership, leadership, and staff of Association.Experience in leadership of a professional organization.Financial background in budgeting and monitoring the budget.An interest in the legislative process and ability to effectively present information to legislators.Communication skills and ability to make effective use of technology.Ability to assist the State Bar Foundation.An interest in the work of SBAND's committees and ability to staff the committees in their ongoing work.
Qualifications for the position include a requirement that applicants be eligible to be licensed to practice law in the State of North Dakota.
