Abstract

The Southwest Judicial District Bar Association has elected Christina M. Wenko as its new president.

Wenko was elected during a March 10 meeting, along with new secretary-treasurer Jennifer Gooss, according to a news release. Both will serve two-year terms. Wenko was also voted to represent the association on the Board of Governors for the State Bar Association of North Dakota.

Wenko, who is a partner at Mackoff Kellogg Law Firm in Dickinson, is a Hettinger High School and Dickinson State University graduate who earned her law degree from the University of North Dakota in 2012. Along with her private practice, she serves as Dickinson’s city prosecutor and Golden Valley County state’s attorney.

Gooss is Dickinson’s city attorney and has been practicing law since 2012. She is a graduate of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas Boyd School of Law.

The Southwest Judicial District Bar Association consists of all lawyers practicing in the eight counties of southwest North Dakota, including, Stark, Dunn, Billings, Golden Valley, Slope, Hettinger, Bowman, and Adams counties. The Association serves as the official organization of lawyers within the Southwest Judicial District. Its mission is to promote justice and to serve the lawyers and the people of southwestern North Dakota.
