Abstract
GRAND FORKS, N.D.—Sara E. Bjerke, BS AT '95, MS, ATC, LAT, an instructor and assistant athletic trainer in the Department of Sports Medicine, was announced as a winner of a National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Service Award. She will be accepting the award this summer at the national convention in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Service Award recognizes NATA members for their contributions to the athletic training profession as a volunteer at the local and state levels. Recipients have been involved in professional associations, community organizations, grassroots public relations efforts, and service as a volunteer athletic trainer.
Sara has been very active in the state of North Dakota by serving as past president of the North Dakota Athletic Trainers' Association (NDATA). Currently, Sara is the executive director of the NDATA and serves on the Board of Directors of the Mid-America Athletic Trainers' Association.
