Abstract
University of North Dakota Professor William A. Schwalm, in the physics and astrophysics department, recently released his new ebook “Lectures on Selected Topics in Mathematical Physics: Elliptic Functions and Elliptic Integrals.”
The ebook provides an introduction to aspects of elliptic functions and elliptic integrals. The lectures that make up the book were developed as part of the first semester of a course on theoretical and mathematical methods for physics and chemistry graduate students at UND.
About Schwalm:
Schwalm has been at the Department of Physics & Astrophysics since 1980. Throughout his career, he has taught physics courses of all levels and conducted research in condensed matter theory and application of mathematical methods to physical problems. He has received outstanding teaching awards from the University of Utah (1979) and the McDermott Award for Excellence in Teaching from UND (1995).
