Abstract

The University of North Dakota School of Law invites applications for two tenure-track positions, one in Lawyering Skills and one in Business Associations, and related courses. These positions begin August 2016.

The School of Law seeks colleagues committed to producing well-rounded legal professionals with the necessary skills to serve as effective, innovative, and ethical leaders. Our distinctive character as one of the nation’s smaller public law schools, and the sole law school in the State informs our program of legal education, which reflects a thoughtful and collaborative approach to teaching and learning. We particularly value teachers who demonstrate intentionality and creativity, and are interested in infusing their doctrinal teaching with writing, research, and/or other skills pedagogies. We also seek scholars with innovative research agendas and encourage work that transcends disciplinary boundaries, including the scholarship of teaching and learning. And we desire colleagues who view service to the law school, the academy, and the profession as integral to their own success.

Candidates must have a J.D. degree, a distinguished academic record, and demonstrated excellence in their professional work. Candidates also should have a record of, or show promise for, achievement as a teacher, scholar, and colleague with a commitment to academic and professional service.

Applications will be reviewed until the positions are filled. UND is an equal opportunity/affirmative action institution, and the School of Law especially welcomes candidates who will enhance faculty diversity. Electronic submissions are preferred at this address: und.law.fsc@law.und.edu. Applications may also be sent to Professor James Grijalva, Chair, Faculty Selection Committee, University of North Dakota School of Law, 215 Centennial Drive Stop 9003, Grand Forks, ND 58202-9003.
