A photograph of the Usher Burdick family. Quentin, Eugene and Usher Burdick are in the second row (left to right), while Eva Robertson (Emma Burdick's mother) Eileen Burdick, and Emma Burdick are in the front row (left to right).

Usher Burdick had a long career in North Dakota politics and served in the North Dakota House of Representatives (1909-1911), as Lieutenant Governor of North Dakota (1911-1913), and in the United States House of Representatives (1935-1945 and 1949-1959).

Quentin Burdick, represented North Dakota in the United States House of Representatives from 1958 to 1960 and the United States Senate from 1960 until his death in 1992.

Eugene Burdick served as a North Dakota District Court Judge from 1953 until 1978.
