Abstract
Cyberbullying - intentional harm to a target using digital technologies - is a world-wide problem that has both immediate and long-term psychosocial consequences for perpetrators, targets, and witnesses. This presentation will consider what motivates some persons to engage in cyberbullying, what makes it so harmful, and what schools can do to prevent this behavior and intervene when it occurs. The way this phenomenon impacts rural schools will be emphasized.
