Description
This letter dated August 3, 1949, from United States (US) Senator William Langer to US Senator from Oklahoma Robert S. Kerr, encloses a letter from Three Affiliated Tribes member Martin Cross. Langer forwards Cross's letter which contains questions regarding US House Joint Resolution 33 in the hope that Kerr will have answers for Cross. The letter from Cross is not enclosed with this document.
A handwritten note on the letter says "Cross, Martin."
H.J. 33 became Public Law 81-437 or "An Act to Vest Title to Certain Lands of the Three Affiliated Tribes of the Fort Berthold Reservation, North Dakota, in the United States, and to provide Compensation Therefor" better known as "The Taking Act."
