Artist Bio

Kathryn "Katie" McCleery served as a professor of visual arts from 1973 until her retirement in 2005. In 2006, she was granted the title of Professor Emerita.

Her work can also be seen on the Campbell Public Library in East Grand Forks, where her brick relief piece “Good Friends” near the entrance, was completed in 2001 for the grand opening of the library. Another relief piece of hers is at the Sacred Heart School.

McCleery also crafted the dual 12-foot-wide by 9-foot-high brick reliefs of stampeding bison that adorn the entrance to the Harry D. McGovern Alumni Center at North Dakota State University, which was first dedicated in 1999.

The artist passed away in 2022.
