Artist Bio

Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo was an Italian artist born in 1727 in Venice. Tiepolo trained and gained his skills as an artist under his successful father, Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. He is best known for his paintings and drawings that portray detailed religious scenes, popular theater scenes, and scenes of contemporary life. Works by Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo can be found in the permanent collections of Rijksmuseum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the J. Paul Getty Museum, and many others internationally.
