Artist Bio
Robert Gerhart III was born in 1943 in Pennsylvania. Gerhart studied at the Pratt Institute in New York in 1965 when he obtained his BFA, he then went on to get his MFA from Temple University, Tyler School of Art in 1969. He is best known for his artists' books that consist of combining collage, montage work, painting over photographs and copy work. Other work in mediums he's known for are his geometric and abstract paintings and lithographs, as well as photography. Robert Gerhart III has work in the permanent collections of the Weaver Foundation, the North Carolina Museum of Art, and many more.
