Estonian Folk Costume: Estonian people wore traditional dress that was unique to the area where they lived. The clothing was not worn daily but was reserved for special events. The designs embroidered on the clothing, as well as the weave of the fabrics used, were identified with the geographic district where they lived. Folk costumes were worn on special occasions and continue to be used in Estonia. The country is known for its song festivals, which are held every summer. All the participants wear the clothing that is traditional in their geographic areas.
