Additional Information

From James Carley's notes: Soft redware colander with transparent glaze inside and out, crackled inside, and worn from use. 10" dia. Two incised lines an inch below the rounded collar. Pierced on side & base with 1/4" holes. Purchased at Shrewsbury House in Madison, Indiana in 1968. The proprietor John Windle thought perhaps it is Ohio and as early as 1800. He was formerly at the Newberry Library. He is a leader in restoration of Madison.
