Additional Information

From James Carley's notes: Pair of pitchers of hard ware, unrefined red body. Well thrown. 10" high. Coggle wheel double line of dots at shoulder. The thin brown glaze gives a low lustre. Purchased from Edward C. Lee, Annapolis, MD. He got them from Herb Hewlitt, a 70 year old man who does odd jobs like washing windows. His aunt had made them at the Newcastle, Delaware Pottery. Lee asked Hewlitt why the bottoms inside were painted green. Oh, his father liked to paint everything green.
