Additional Information

From James Carley's notes: Chestnut roaster of stoneware 5 1/2" high. 6 1/2" dia. Squat shape with a long neck & opening mouth. Sides & base roughly pierced with 1/2" holes. The rim is glazed and touches on the neck & strap handle (bad). The buff or red body largely blackened from the fire - the bottom itself is not. Early piece. Purchased 20 miles south of Roanoke VA. Came from the coast near Glouchester.
