From James Carley's notes: Gray stoneware crock, 4 gallons, 11" high, 11 1/2" wide. Marks: impressed, filled with blue HAXTON & CO. FORT GOWARD, N.Y. 41. The design in blue is of crossed Birds on branches. The bottom and rim are unglazed. Luterion of black tanish brown. Purchased Indpls. antique show. See image for additional details.
