The flag outside Twamley Hall flies at half-staff to honor the late President John F. Kennedy after November 22nd, 1963. Six cars are parked across the street. President Kennedy spoke to nearly 20,000 people in the UND Fieldhouse on September 25, 1963 regarding conservation in America as well as in North Dakota.
