Description

President John F. Kennedy gives an address during his visit to UND on September 25, 1963. Seated on the platform in the front row, left to right are: Secretary of the Interior Stuart Udell, UND President George Starcher, North Dakota Governor William Guy, and the arm of Senator Quentin Burdick. The back row from left to right consists of State Board of Higher Educations members Fred Orth, John Conrad, Elvira Jestrab, A.E. Mead, and Albert Haas. President Kennedy spoke to nearly 20,000 people in the UND Fieldhouse regarding conservation in America as well as in North Dakota.
