Artist Bio
David Hockney was born in 1937 in Yorkshire England. He studied at the Bradford College of Art from 1953 to 1957 and then went on to the Royal College of Art from 1959 to 1962. A British icon of the pop art movement, Hockney is known for his painting, printmaking, photography, and stage design work. His work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institution, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Modern Museum of Art and several other collections.
