Additional Information
The small sculpture reveals a realistic trend in Roman art. The Bust of a Patrician Woman suggests a sense of individual likeness. This bust was cast in solid bronze by the “lost-wax” (or “cire-perdu”) method.
Large bronze bust of a woman of power and nobility. Her hair is tied back in classic roman style of the time. She wears robes with delicate folds. Amazing piece with great detail and beautiful olive-green patina. Likely once graced a chariot of piece of important furniture.
