In this audiovisual recording from Friday, March 30, 2007, as part of the 38th Annual UND Writers Conference: “Writing the Body,” Leslie Adrienne Miller, Mary Gaitskill, Stuart Dybek, and Timothy Liu participate in a panel called “The Sexual Body.” The panel opens with a discussion of defining notions of sexuality, gendered sexuality and reproductive politics, the philosophy of the erotic, and the sexual lives of writers and their work. The panelists also discuss the rhetoric of pornography and its influence on cultural sexuality, writing outside gender and mediating power dynamics regarding gender, and sexual politics in literature.
