Description
In this audiovisual recording from Thursday, March 29, 2007, as part of the 38th Annual UND Writers Conference: “Writing the Body," Miller Williams, Stuart Dybek, and Timothy Liu participate in a panel called “The Body Politic.” The panelists discuss the multiplicity of the conceptual “body,” body as political affiliation and writer membership in a political body or intellectual academy, and the politics of sexuality. Liu reads an excerpt from Michel Foucault's The History of Sexuality. The panelists also discusses art as transcendent of mortality, the sexual freedoms and identities associated with bodies, and the literature that helps form the panelists' notions of the body.
Moderated by Dr. Adam Kitzes, Department of English.
