Description

Matthiessen expresses his disappointment with UND's retention of the Fighting Sioux nickname and logo and discusses the political implications of American Indian sport mascots. Matthiessen also reads from his new novel Bone by Bone and from The Snow Leopard. Matthiessen then responds to audience questions about how his Zen Buddhist lifestyle affects his writing, cultural preservation, and the adaptation of his work to film.
