Description
This publication consists of the text of radio address delivered in 1948 by Dr. Elwyn Robinson on KFJM, the public radio station at the University of North Dakota.
The "Heroes of Dakota" in the second edition were: Manuel Lisa, fur trader; John Jacob Astor, business leader; Joseph La Barge, steamboat captain; Father Pierre-Jean De Smet, Catholic missionary; Prince Maximilan of Wied, German explorer; Father George Belcourt, Catholic priest; Crazy Horse, Oglala Lakota warrior; George Armstrong Custer, United States military leader; Jay Cooke, banker; and Mary Dodge Woodward, bonanza farmer.
