Description

An action photograph of UND Football player, Bill Predovich #89, at the UND vs Idaho State game on September 24, 1966. This game was the first Potato Bowl USA Game which is a battle for pride among potato growing regions. Created in 1965 by UND Athletic Director, Leonard Marti, head football Coach Marv Helling, assistant football coach Jerry Olson and sports information director Lee Bohnet, the Potato Bowl USA is a weeklong festival teaming the University of North Dakota and the Red River Valley potato growing company. UND defeated Idaho State 41-0. Under Coach Marvin "Whitey" Helling, UND had a record of 8-2-0, in 1966. Bill Predovich was the captain of the 1968 UND Football Team and lettered each year from 1966-1968.
