Jackie McElroy is a former Professor and Chair of the University of North Dakota Art Department. In her unusual landscapes, McElroy draws attention to the unexpected and illustrates how creative exploration of a physical location can reveal a uniqueness of place and culture.

A prism full of grey clouds floats in a blue sky. The prism produces a shower of red rain which falls down into a drain situation in the middle of a tilled field below.
