Artist Bio
Ingrid Restemayer is a North Dakota native and Minneapolis-based fiber artist and printmaker. She earned her BFA in Fiber Arts from the University of North Dakota and studied at Whitecliffe College of Art and Design in Auckland, New Zealand. Restemayer combines traditional hand-embroidery techniques with etching, handmade paper, and collage to create intricate mixed-media compositions. Her work draws inspiration from the landscapes of the Northern Plains, incorporating repetitive stitching and geometric patterns that reflect the region's agricultural fields and open horizons. Restemayer has received several awards, including a Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant and a Jerome Foundation Emerging Fiber Artist Grant. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including at the Susan Hensel Gallery, Nina Bliese Gallery, and Benedicta Arts Center.
