Artist Bio
Lily Roman is an artist based in southern California. Her paintings explore themes of femininity, identity, and self-expression through striking portraits of women, often featuring exaggerated beehive hairstyles. She draws inspiration from mid-twentieth-century fashion. Roman transforms these iconic hairstyles into symbols of individuality, heritage, and personal identity. She uses dramatic contrasts of light and shadow to evoke emotion and introspection. Roman's work invites viewers to reflect on the relationship between outward appearance and personal history.
