Artist Bio
Nestor Toro is a Puerto Rican-born abstract expressionist painter who grew up in Ponce and is now based in West Hollywood, California. A self-taught artist, he works primarily with liquid acrylics, watercolors, and inks, building intricate, multilayered compositions through a gestural, poured technique often compared to Jackson Pollock's. His work draws on the natural world he grew up around, from tropical color and aquariums to the meeting of waters in the Amazon, translating those fluid patterns into organic, fractal-like fields of color. Today his paintings are collected internationally across more than 30 countries and five continents.
