Artist Bio
Pınar Akbaba is an Istanbul-based painter working primarily in abstraction, alongside geometric and animal-themed imagery. For Akbaba, painting is an act of freedom, a way to escape the constraints of a repressive society and to express the self honestly. Her work pursues a sense of unity between body, mind, and spirit, treating abstraction as a path to personal discovery. She has held solo exhibitions in Istanbul, including Monolog at the Cemal Reşit Rey Hall (2017), and shown in group exhibitions across Istanbul and internationally in Lisbon.
