Artist Bio
Marlene Llanes is a Mexican-American surrealist painter based in Austin, Texas. Her dreamlike oil paintings combine everyday objects with natural forms create contemplative, peaceful landscapes. Llanes earned her MFA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design after completing a degree in graphic design in Morelia, Mexico and she is a Fulbright Scholar. She has exhibited throughout the United States, Mexico, and Italy. Her meticulously rendered works are held in public collections and invite viewers to reflect on nature, connection, and the quiet mysteries of everyday life.
